 Each toner cartridge requires one to two liters of oil, and creates 4.8 kg of CO2 in its production. This represents, in the UK alone, an annual consumption of 200,000,000 liters of oil, and the creation of 480,000 metric tons of CO2. This is equivalent to the CO2 emission of a medium size car driving four billion kilometers.
